advice

One of my colleagues always says farewell by saying "Be good!". I often laugh and say "I'll try" or something along those lines back.
Today, we had a lady up from our Sydney office, and when she just departed, her response to his "Be good!" farewell was "If you can't be good, be careful". What a great little line.

This is one of those rare spontaneous moments in life where everything just falls spectacularly into place. Gospel singers sure do have some soul. So moving.

everything happens for...

I want to make special mention here of my friend Jess.

As they say "everything happens for a reason", this too is true for our friendship. From our first day meeting at uni when I mistook you for my best friend as you had the same hair, to the fortuneous day of us both moving out on the same day, and conveniently moving in together!

Thanks for always making me smile with your happy nature, your hilarious antics haha, filling our home with fresh flowers, teaching me how to cook and your inspiring blog posts, hand written letters and photography (instagrams!).

I've enjoyed spending more time with my new roommate lately and hope that we will still be swinging in the park when we are old ladies!!!

My aunty just got back from a holiday in Hawaii! They stayed here at the Royal Hawaiian which they nickname the "Pink Palace"- Apparently it is one out of only two of Hawaii's 5 star resorts. Looks amazing.

I just wanted to share this short film which follows a day in California. My friend and flatmate Jess went there earlier this year, I went there this time last year, and my cousin, his wife and their children are about to head there in a couple of days! The music is perfection.

I'll admit I was thrown some pretty neat birthday parties as a kid; for my 5th birthday party I had  a hired clown that did balloon tricks and my birthday cake was shaped as a butterfly with snake lollies around its wings, and smarties as its antennas :)

But my goly gosh I was blown away at the beautiful and intricate detail that Sharnel of My-Life- My Loves put into making her daughters "Mary Poppins" themed 7th birthday party extra special. She credits Loralie Lewis with the pretty pastel decorations which you can take a look at via her Etsy store.
